My Wash Day Routine

For healthy natural hair, it is important to make sure you keep your hair clean and moisturized. However, this doesn’t mean that you have to have difficult hair routine. I consider my wash day to be relatively easy.

First I wash my hair, normally in the shower. Depending on how I feel, I’ll do one or two washes. Then I i put on conditioner and detangle my hair in sections. I usually have 5-6 sections of hair. I put the conditioner on, finger comb, then comb with a large comb. Then I put a plastic cap or bag on my hair and let it sit. I use Creme of Nature Argan Oil line.

So after I let my hair sit for however long I feel like it, then I rinse it out. Next I put a little oil and shea butter. Then I’ll let my hair air dry. If I decide to style it I’ll style it. If not I’ll just rock the fro

Lately I’ve been into styling.  Here’s a puff immediately after washing and a quick condition in the shower.

And here is a twist out that I recently did.  I had in medium sized two-strand twists for a week and then took them out. This was the day before I did a wash.

Washing my hair is never a challenging task.  I’ve learned how to take care of my hair and have beautiful, healthy results.

  1. Im new to the natural scene. I cut my hair and its very short but it always has been. I was looking for a line of products, that will help my hair become healthy and grow. I came across a cream of nature coconut milk leave in conditioner and detangler. So sunday i used the queen helene cholestorol. I left it in my hair for about 30 minutes. I then sprayed my hsir with the cream of nature and i had some moracan oil that i put in. The next day my hair was so dry i used some pink oil moisturizer for my hair. But i dont know what to do at night to my hair and what to do on a daily basis. I dont want to have to run to the salon all the time to do something i can do at home. My hair is not naturally curly but id like to get curls without the heat. Can u help me?

    • From my experience, keeping my routine simple has been the best. Get your hair somewhat wet every day and use an oil. For me water and oil has been the best. I’ve started using shea butter and that’s also helped retain moisture. My biggest advice to you is to accept your hair texture. If it is not naturally curly do not go to great lengths to force it that way. Accept your hair. At night I don’t do anything. I don’t even sleep with a bonnet. But you can try some twists or something. But over all it sounds like you’re using too many products.

    • Start off with water and oil. Keep it that simple. And let your hair “detox” from the products you been using. Try coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, grape seed oil, jojoba oil, or sweet almond oil. You don’t need them all, just pick one or two. Use a sulfate free shampoo and a conditioner.
